Elder Cheney Takes on Mexico (and Fresno)

Hola mis amigos!!!!  This week was honestly a solid week. We had many miracles this week, first Alan was baptized!!!! I was able to baptize him and afterwards he just told me that he wanted to be a missionary!!!! I was so excited!!! We are still working hard to help his mom Gloria to be baptized!!!  Highlights: - I got to make homemade cookies today, NO ONE IN MEXICO HAS A FREAKING OVEN.  - I did service for 6 hours of moving a family to a different house. Ever seen a white guy carry a queen bed on his head, yeah I haven't either because I was doing it hahah.  -I learned never to forget sunscreen while doing service. I got more fried than a fried turkey on Thanksgiving.  - Talked with Yakquline and she also wants to be a missionary!! - I ate 12 tacos at the district president's house on Sunday!  - Prayed more times than I could count - Was able to testify that God truly loves us and that no matter what we will have his love for us....

Wow this past two weeks have been seriously insane, but thats the mission life for ya!!  So these past week I have been just learning my area and the investigators and finding new people to teach. So they are wanting to create a new ward here so they made my area a combination of 2 areas, which means my area is MASSIVE. I have from a street called the 1st street to the 44th street but there is more than that! I haven't walked my entire area yet because it would take about 2 hours! But with Jacklyn, which I learned to spell her way is Yakqueline, is doing super good! She still wants to be baptized but her mom has no time to talk to us to sign her form of permission. Also her neighbors do not like us, we visited them one night and she wasn't home. But her neighbor answered and then slammed the door in our faces ! Hahah! Oh well she still wants to meet with us. But everytime ...

 Lets Goooooo! Hola mis amigos, Ok so this week honestly was kind of just like a normal week. We contacted a lot of people and just talked a lot to people. I am trying to learn my area as fast as possible. Its super hard because my area is massive, we combined two areas into one and that makes my area of Junchavin.  But it means that there is so much potential. But we are working slowly but surely. I am now the senior companion, which means I have the responsibility of the area and to make sure that we are doing what we need to be doing. But I also found out that I am going to be district leader, which means I am the leader of about 4 different areas. Hahah I am a little stressed but I am also so ready to help the people of my district.  We had a baptism of Jose this week. He was the last member of his family to be baptized but he was so happy to be baptized and it was so amazing!! I was able to share a short talk about the importance of the holy ghost!! ...

Hola Mis amigos!!! So this week was transfer week and guess what y'all, I got hit again with the changes hahaha. But I am staying really close only the city of my zone. its in Comitan, and it's an area called Juchavin. So I don't have a ton of time this week! 1. We had two baptisms this week, Berta Alicica and Carlos. But we had them in a different location and we got into a back of a pick up and drove 40 minutes for the place. But it started downing pouring with rain. We got there but cold and wet. But this family still had huge smiles on their faces!!!! They are great!! 2. President Doman had his family in town for a weekend. So they went to some waterfalls and went swimming. But he jumped into a waterfall and got sucked under for 5 minutes and he came up dead!!! No pulse and not breathing. But his son in law is medically trained so he revived him!!! But my president was dead for about 5 minutes. Crazy! 3. We found the son of a member and his family.
