Elder Cheney Takes on Mexico (and Fresno)

HOLA MIS AMIGOS!! Well first I am super grateful for all of you that sent me a letter this week, it has helped a lot and I feel so much love from the states!!! So the title, if you guys have kept up on my mission, my presidente really likes transfers i guess. SO YOUR BOY GOT TRANSFERRED AGAIN!!!! After two weeks in 5 de Febrero, i was switched the Tapachula ward which is just one ward over. But this area has sisters and were taking out and this area didn't have missionaries. So my president put me and another GRINGO!!! Here so this is my first gringo comp since day 1. But I am still zone leader and senior comp. My president also separates the zone leaders. Don't ask me why. But this week has actually been really great! I have traveled my zone helping lots of missionaries and doing interviews for baptism! I love watching the lords work grow! Hola mis amigos!! So this week has been a pretty crazy one, 1. I sat on a bus for 12 hours, but I did get to see a lot of missionary friends and see some old members. 2. I got to my new area its called 5 de Febrero or 5 of February, I am in Tapachula, which is the coast so its HOT!!! Its January and I am sweating like did in August during cross country season!  3. My comp is Elder Gutierrez from Bolivia, he has 15 months in the mission. 4. We basically started from scratch in my area because its a city so there are many people interested! But just with 4 days we have seen lots of miracles!! We had 1 day with no appointments and then we had days that were just filled with them!! 5. I also was asked to be a zone leader here in Tapachula and I am grateful for this opportunity but I am also a little scared jaja. But GOD is here for me. Hola mis amigos!!! how was your christmas?!?! BECAUSE MINE WAS THE FREAKING BEST!! Being a missionary during christmas is the freaking best honestly, I thought I would be a lot more sad than I was but it was great (Sorry family). But this week was great. Here in Mexico the 24th is bigger than actual christmas. So no one was in their house and I mean no one. So we went and bought a bunch of cookies and goodies for the kids and families of our branch. Then we went on our jolly ole way and became santa claus. It was great.  So here they do a huge futbol (Soccer) tournament in the center of the village. So all the men and women go to watch. So we went with some of the members to watch soccer. We had a pretty good time drinking pepsi and watch some soccer. But of course we couldn't stay forever so we left and did some more visits.  So one family invited us to eat with them and they gave us chicken and pico de gayo but with shrimp in it, we ate so mu...
