Hola Mis Amigos!!!!!

How is everyone doing this week, sorry I didnt write last week my district went to the Temple again so i didnt really have much time.

But I am on my last week here at the CCM !! I am so excited but also so freaked out that I am leaving to go out into the field in only 4 days. But either way i am just so ready to meet the people of Tuxtla. Since its the last week we have been getting a ton of information about travel plans and when we are leaving. But because of that I found that there is actually another Elder going to my mission with me! So that means there are 8 of us now, 4 gringos and 4 latinos! I leave for the airport on monday at 2 am and then my flight leaves at 630. Its coming so fast but I am so excited.

These past few weeks have been pretty normal we doing classes for about 9 to 10 hours a day. Some of its spanish instruction and then teaching and gospel reviews. We are still teaching our investigators and both of them are scheduled to be baptized this monday! The investigators are our teachers that play as investigators they had on their own missions. But we have taught everyday for the passed 4 weeks all in spanish, so my spanish has gotten better but no where to what I need it to be. 

Oh one cool thing that happened this week was yesterday on tuesday. Tuesdays are the day the white dots come or the new missionaries. And since we are 6th weekers we are the ones that help them find their casas or dorms and find the basic stuff the need. Butthe people that assign us to help tells that we have to speak only spanish to them and to give them a tour. So I got one elder from Montana. I was speaking to him and he just looked so confused and scared. Haha I felt bad so I started speaking english to him. But we got him where he needed to be. The only thing I kept thinking about was that I am so glad I am not new. I want to get out of here so bad. I know I am not ready but I am so ready to get out this compound. 

In my personal and class study we studied the story of Ammon again. But this time the verse Alma 18 34 stood out to me. It is when King Lamoni asked his if he was teh Great spirit or God. Ammon just replies by saying he is man that has been called of God to preach His word unto his children. I loved this because all of us are his children and we are called to help the other children. Here in the CCM were are all missionaries called to preach His word. But sometimes we forget we have God on our side and we struggle. But We are called of God and he is holding us up. So we are just men or women but we are Mena dn women of our Heavenly Father.

Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
