Whats up yall!

I thought I would change it up haha

This week, all i can say it was one for the books. We had a lot of experiences that I can say only happened because I was a missionary of the true church.

We found a lot of people this week that we can start teaching, which is awesome! One girl named Ilda and her sister pearla. But I teach them english and then a little bit about the gospel! We had a activities night and their whole famliy showed up! Which was awesome!! We have a short lesson and then played and ate food. They unfortunatley did not come to church because they have other things going on. 

Maria candelaria, she is a young woman we found while she was at work. She was really nice and really receptive of our message. My comp and another missionary visited them (Ill get to why another missionary was here) and she wants to get baptized!!!! 

Then a really big thing happened this week, i am not going to go into much detail but I can say that God sends help spiritually for all his children. We had a experience here that was really scary, not physically but spiritually. I am sorry its not a lot of information but its not something to share. 

But know that my testimony off God and Jesus Christ and the Savior has been strengthened so much these past few days. After this experience the assistants of our mission president came. That's why another missionary was with my comp. But with the assistants we just blessed my area with success and the power and protection of the spirit. 

I have done a lot of pondering this week if I am really being the best missionary or member i can be. And I just kept thinking that there is more that I could be doing! And of course there is, but we also have to remember as long as we are moving forward we are doing good. We doing have to be running or sprinting, we could be crawling but as long as we are moving forward we are doing good. 

I read in 4 Nephi 1:1 again I don't have it in english. but I love the part where it says the diciples of Jesus Christ will establish the church in the land! As missionaries we are physically doing this! but as members also we are doing this! We are fighting the bad, satan, and we are progressing the church in the land, the good!!!!! We are the good! We will be hit with the bad but we need to remember we are the good! God is with us!!!! We cant lose!!!!! VAMOS!!!!!!!!! CREO EN JESUCRISTO!!!!

Hola mis amgios!!!!

Sorry for my email last week! But there was work to be done!

I hope you are all doing great!

This week nothing major happened which is good and bad at the same time. We had  lot of appointments this week! Also we contacted a ton of people that are actually really interested in learning more! 

We contacted this group of 6 teenagers-adults. Sometimes its a little nerve racking contacting big groups or families. Because first we are out numbered and second because of my spanish. But we contacted this people and they were all like interested and were asking questions for like 30 minutes! It was so awesome!!

We don't have a ton of members in this village, so sometimes it feels a little lonely. So we try to talk to everyone that we can. Even if they don't really want to talk to us or learn about our message they still say hi or wave to us in the streets. These people are so genuine and kind!!

But now for the part where I could have been robbed! HAHA. So we went to the main city of tuxtla for a reunion of my zone of missionaries. Its about a two hour bus ride. After the meeting and lunch we decided to head back. It was about 5 in the afternoon and the bus was leaving at 6. But it didn't actually leaving until 7:30! WE ALSO WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THE BUS!!!! We made stops in some very random places and some people were looking at the bus and us like we were food. Haha my and my comp were hiding our money, debit cards in our socks and pants. Especially being a gringo I thought we were gonna be robbed. Haha but God protected us and we were ok!

This week I read in 3 Nephi 27:27-28. This scripture is one of my favorites because its Jesus Christ talking to us!! He said that if we ask through his name God will open the door for us! I truly believe that Jesus Christ and God want to help us. They love us so much! I am not a perfect person, but I know that they want to help me, and they want to help you too! I invite you all to find a relationship with God, if you don't think its very strong, work on it and pray and ask! HE WILL HELP YOU!!!

I love the opportunities I have to help the people of Malpaso Chiapas Mexico!!!!

Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
