I am a chicken killer!
How is everyone doing! I hope your Thanksgiving and first part of December have been absolutely fantastic!! I am sorry for those I didn't write last week! I couldn't, we got news that 9 missionaries from my zone had to travel on bus to tuxtla for a Missionary Leadership Conference with president Doman. One of them was me! So Monday I had to travel 4 hours to tuxtla for conference with him!

But these two weeks have been crazy!!
1. Karina and Melani were baptized! Pte Doman came for the baptisms!! We baptized in a river near my area, oh man it was so amazing!!! Hna Karina couldnt stop smiling!! Also One other person that got baptized hurt her ankle so she couldnt walk, but we helped her in and out of the water. She was so scared because the water was cold, but afterwards she was jumping up and down, saying the water was so warm.
2. I helped kill a chicken for some soup, yesterday hna karina said she needed to make soup for this week. But had to kill one of her chickens, so I jumped up and helped catch a chicken and watched her gut a chicken, gotta love the mission experience!
3. The leadership conference was amazing. I love hearing from President Doman, it was so spiritual!!
4. The sisters in my zone made us all a Thanksgiving dinner! With mashed potatoes, 2 turkeys, guacamole (Were living it up mexican style), and ROLlS!!!!!! Oh I have missed food from the states.
5. Ate cow head tacos, they actually arent that bad.
6. HIT 10 MONTHS IN THE MISSION!!!
7. Had some low points during these weeks, but you know what WE CAN CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY!!! Its hard to always be happy, but you know what I am only serving the Lord for 2 years!!! I wont be able to do this again!! I am gonna love showering from a bucket everyday!!! I am gonna treasure the moments of sweating in the soup that someone gives me!! I am gonna probably cry if someone doesn't look at me like an alien because I am white and I live in a village for 200 people. :)
8. MY wonderful people from the waxhaw ward sent me a package this week!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

So my dad sent me talk this week from elder Holland, the first great commandment!! OH man oh man!! Its the best!! Elder Holland knows how to bring the spirit! But I invite you all to go read it. Because I feel that sometimes I am Peter, I return to the ways I was, I dont study as hard, or I get lazy, I dont talk to everyone I see, I dont have a smile on my face, but you know what, CHRIST CALLED US AS DISCIPLES!!! I will go and do the things the Lord has commanded me. Also go watch the new youth theme video! Its great!!

But I love my mission!! I love yall so much!!

Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
