 Long time no write!!


Hola mis amigos!!


Ok, so I know I am really bad at writing. I don't know what happened these past few weeks or months but it's been hard to just write a solid email. So I am so sorry to all of yall! But honestly if you are still reading my emails after 19 months I am impressed! You're the true MVP! 
Well I will just give you a run down of area and what I am doing. 
So I am in an area called Echo, I am one companionship of 3. We have 2 sets of elders and 1 set of sisters in this ward. That is because it is Spanish speaking, so we cover a lot more ground. But I am in the middle of the city of Fresno. My zone covers the mission offices. I am actually the zone leader over the offices and the assistants to president, so I get to see my old companion Elder Teuscher quite a bit. Oh also I don't think I mentioned that. We had transfers and my comp Elder Teuscher got called to be assistant so I have a new comp, Elder Hunter. My zone is pretty small compared to others but we are such a close family! I love it!

The area is great, we have great leaders and great members! We are just trying to work hard and diligent during these hard times! But we are now allowed to go outside and walk through our areas. We just can't knock doors or contact people off the street but that doesn't mean we cant ask a question or allow someone to talk to us!! We have been working hard through Facebook and calling people. Even though everything is shut down we are still going strong. The Lords work doesn't stop even when we are on fire and in a pandemic!

So I have been in California for almost 5 months! I have learned so many things, met eternal friends and honestly enjoyed so many things. It's crazy to me how the mission works and how fast it is. If you have followed my mission you can see it's a little different, but honestly who wants Normal! Haha I have experienced many things but its honestly just strengthened my testimony even more! I have had 3 mission presidents, 2 missions, 11 areas, 14 companions, 1 pandemic, 6 weeks at home, fires and smoke, crazy food, new language and most of all the guidance of the Lord! I am not perfect, I am not the best, but I had truly worked hard to do what he wants me to do.

This weeks spiritual thought is a good one. I saw a video this week, it had this German Cathedral (I'll send a picture) but this church has been through a lot. It was bombed in World War II. But the city loved it so much that they decided to rebuild it. But they used some of the original bricks to do so. So there are some black, burned, bombed bricks within this beautiful building. I love this story! This building is like us, we have scars physically,  Mentally, spiritually but we are all still beautiful. We are children of God. You are loved, beautiful! Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
