Que honda!?!


Thought I would switch it up on y'all today! How's everyone doing this fine week? Everything this going swell here in the central valley, sunny California. We have seen many miracles and have done many things!

First off, east coast beast coast. I had exchanges with the Woodward Park elders. I went with Elder Heid who is from Fort Mill South Carolina. It was super cool to get work with him. We may have even gone to In and Out....... California isn't too bad. We then saw some super cool miracles. They had no lessons planned for the afternoon. But I decided let's call your members, and we set up 2 lessons for a couple hours later. Which does not happen in this area! But the lessons went super well. Elder Heid is such a stud!

We also had interviews from President and some training from the assistants. That went really well. I love president Gillespie! He is super quiet, but super awesome. 

We also can now knock doors!! So we went contacting. Super cool experience, we talked to a lady about pomegranates, the zoo, komodo dragon, and then she said she didn't want to know about our message. But didn't want to leave us on a down note so she gave us freshly baked german chocolate cake! She was super nice. 

We are teaching some great people!
Gilbert- this man is a wrestling coach at Fresno city college. But get this, he is like 5 ft tall. He is a state champ in wrestling in college. He is super cool. He has tons of questions, he doesn't have a ton of belief in things. He has learned about these things before but he struggles with receiving personal revelation.

Christina- we just happened to call her and she invited us to come over and talk to them. They are super awesome. He listened so intently. We are hoping we can go teach them again.

Eduardo- he is the stepdad of the sisters convert. We have been teaching him and he just says I want to have an eternal marriage. He wants to do what is necessary to have his family for eternity! 

You know what? How are y'all? I go on and on about what's going on in my mission. Well I want thank everyone that stills reads these! Y'all are the best.

I am trying to do a in depth study of the atonement. I want to really understand what it means. I am reading the Atonement of Jesus Christ by Tad R. Callister. I read a scripture that I love! 
Lehi was talking to his sons and said in 2 Nephi 2:30:
I have spoken these few words unto you all, my sons, in the last days of my probation; and I have chosen the good part, according to the words of the prophet. And I have none other object save it be the everlasting welfare of your souls. Amen.

In the middle he said I have chosen the good part! He was talking about the atonement. I don't know why that stood out to me!? But I loved it. The gospel exists because of the atonement. It's the good part! What do you know about the atonement? What is the atonement for you? Because I am beginning to understand what is means to me.

Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
