Hola Mis amigos!!
We had some many Milagros this week or really miracles!!!!
We started this week off with like nobody to teach and like the three people we were teaching weren't home or didn't have time.
But first Miguel. His a 11 and we found him while contacting. When we asking to teach him his grandma basically begged us to come inside and teach! It was amazing. He actually contributed to the lesson and wants to learn more. That day was amazing. He also wants to come to church! So we are super happy about that!
Antonia is 15 but she looks like she is 9. A lot of Mexicans look super young, so when I tell them I am 19 they freak out because they thing I am 22. So that is nice to know that they think I am super old. But she has said she wants to meet with us but she doesn't have time or isn't home. But we went this week and she was there and we read the Book of Mormon with her! We talked about how the book of Mormon takes place her in America and she really liked that. We are hoping that she continues.
Carmen, she is a mother of 3 and works. She believes in God and Jesus Christ but doesn't really know why. We contacted her about a week ago and tried visiting but she wasn't there or didn't have time. But yesterday we went and she said she could meet with us on tuesday! I am trying to speak more during contacting so I asked when and the day and stuff. But she then brought u´p the fact that she is scared pf change. I just then testified in full spanish! About how change is hard. I am going through a change of being in a new country and new language. Its hard! CHANGE IS HARD!!!! But through Jesus Christ it is so much easier. I looked at her and just talked! She almost started crying! I know the gift of tongues is true!!!
We had a baptism this week! Juli she has 2 kids and she is super quite and doesn't talk much. And she laughs when i talk cause she doesnt' know what I am saying. haha so I don't talk much with her. She also cant read so we have to go into a lot of detail during lessons. But she was baptized! And I baptized her! Also names here are insane there are like 5 names. Haha but God blessed me!!!!
One more. So I am companions with a zone leader, so we help a lot of other areas. One day we were getting off the convie (Which is a van for public transportation, not a bus but a van). And we were walking to find the sisters that we are helping. As we were walking I swore I heard someone yelling DUSTIN! I was like what the, but I just kept walking. I heard it again and was like what the fech! I turned around and it was the Sisters but really far back. My companion didn't hear them,. When we got to them I asked what they were yelling and they said Elder. So I guess the spirit was just yelling at me too. Hahah I just thought that was really cool.
Love you guys,
Elder Cheney
