Hello, Oh Hi President!

Hola mis amigos!!

Well another week has come and gone here in the sunny state of California. This week was pretty freaking crazy but also not at the same time. Haha so basically this week we tried to find people through Facebook and through the area book. We found some potentials. 

One huge miracle is that Ana gave us a referral. Her name is Laura. We texted her and she responded right back saying yes! This is something that she really needed to hear! She feels that God has stopped listening. So we went full force atonement because she has some things from her past that she needs to let go. But she is super amazing I am hoping that she will stick with it.

There are a lot of things that happened and I really can't remember I'm so sorry. Haha today was hard because in memory of memorial day my whole apartment of elder did the Murph challenge which is 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, and then another mile run. So I am pretty gasted. 

But the title! So this week we have transfers, drum roll!!!!!! I'm not in Mexico anymore people I am staying here in Reedley for a transfer with my "son" elder Wilson, technically finishes his training tomorrow but oh well. But I did get a call from president Mackay, our phone didn't recognize his number so we were really confused on who it was. But he then asked to specifically talk to me.  He asked me to be district leader....... and I am like I have been here 2 weeks I have no idea what I am doing. But it's all in the Lord's hands. 

Ok spiritual moment!! John 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus Christ has overcome everything!! All our sins and struggles and doubts and pains!!! Anything you deal with you can overcome through him!!! Be of good cheer. You know I shared this last week! BUT ITS SUCH A FREAKING FANTASTIC SCRIPTURE. So I am sorry for those who actually read my letters but it looks like you really just needed it again. Cause quarantine can suck but have peace and be of good cheer.

Hola Mis Amigos!!! Well this week was 100% better this week! We had so many miracles and it just makes me so thankful for Heavenly father and the blessings that he gives us!!! So we had a baptism this week! Hermano Manuel, he came to church about 4 times and he never had time to meet with us. But one time we met with him right after church and for a straight hour and a half he just talked. We didnt say anything. So that was fun haha! But then this tuesday we were trying to get in contact with him because we hadn't talked to him for a week, but his phone is really bad and he had work we thought. But he answered us!! He wanted to meet that night, but!!!!!!! We were walking through the park in our area and he walked right past us!!! He was looking for a job because he lost his, which was good and bad.......But we talked to him then and asked him if he wanted to be baptized in 5 days. HE SAID YES!!!!! Hola mis amigos! This what right after new years. Wow well this year has been a real interesting one now hasn't it. It sure feels like we have been through a couple spin cycles. But we made it right!  As I have looked back at this year I realize that I have learned and experienced a lot! Let's see the adventures of Elder Cheney this past year!!! Jan- Continued my streak of being transferred every 2 weeks in Mexico by getting 2 new areas!  Feb- Heard about Covid and starting hearing rumors Mar- Got the news I would be sent home April- got released and spent 6 weeks at home!  May- I was reassigned to the California Fresno mission!  June- learned how to a social media missionary as we were stuck in quarantine. July- Moved to Fresno and met many great people, and Martha got Baptized August- We began leaving our houses and began visiting people again September- I was able to serve and help so many people in Vineyards, moves, and yard work Oct.- We had Axels baptism! ...

  Soy comida para niños Hola Mis Amigos! Sorry for not emailing this past week! But honestly its been just a normal week of missionary work. So in my area we received a new set of missionaries! So Tuxtla Chico now has Elders and Sisters!!! So we spent some time looking for a house for the sisters and then spent some time moving them in, moving a full on fridge up a tiny stairwell is not the funnest thing. But I am now prepared to go back home and help the elders quorum.  This week we have been working really hard to find new people and also keep teaching, 1. ANA- SHE IS THE BEST!! She has been one of the best investigators that I have ever had. She has read the Book of Mormon until Alma, prayed for answers and received them! Then she has come to church like for two months!!!
