Hola mis amigos!
Hows it been? Haha sorry it's been a while! But for anyone fo you that are still following my mission story I thank you haha! It's been a crazy ride! And it doesnt stop there!
So about 2 weeks ago, my comp and I were doing some work on the computers when we got a call from the President. He said he had a new assignment for me. I was like here we go again but I was excited! He told me that I was going to be opening a new area in the north of the mission but while training a new missionary! Who! Is learning spanish but we are assigned to a english area.......
Fast forward..... I picked up Elder Peine who is from Ohio. We had a great training from president, someone handed us some car keys and we got a address and 2 hours later we were at our house. Not knowing anyone, anywhere or anything. But with the grace of God we got to work. We started trying to get to know all the members. We started with the leaders and worked down.
It's been a great couple of weeks. We have been working on spanish when we can, visited many members, tried finding new people to teach without knocking on doors, our mission was put back to purple so we were restricted again. But honestly we have seen so many blessings.
A couple cool things we had was a mission tour from Elder Pearson, it was super awesome and eye opening. Then we had interviews from President, he just talked to me about what I want to work on and then just mentioned working hard till the end.
And thanksgiving was great! I was so happy to be in the States for thanksgiving! I ate so much food! Spent time with some great people and enjoyed seeing all of the give thanks posts! I love that Preisdent Nelson invited us to do that! GRATITUDE! It's so awesome
Then a miracle happened yesterday. We have dropped of cookies and notes to a lot of people just trying to find people to teach and finally a miracle happened. So Neil and Kat just had a baby a week ago. Kat is a member and Neil isnt. But she called us out of the blue and said she wanted a blessing for her baby and to also meet with them. So yesterday we gave the baby a healing blessing and then met with them. They basically told us that they want to return to church and take the lessons with us again! And she hopes Neil even gets baptized this time! So we are now planning meeting with them more often! Super awesome miracle!
Some we have been taught recently is about our Divine Identity. We are all sons and daughters of God. He LOVES us, He LOVES you. We are His children. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you have done. You are LOVED. That is something I have realized from these 21 months is how much god really loves me and all of his children of the world. I love you all and I love teaching others of his love! Can yall share that with someone this week? Share the love God has for them, because sometimes people forget that.
Love yall
Elder Cheney
